Tip #7 Facebook ‘Likes’ Through Video

Videos are now dominating the social media Facebook so what better way to market your brand than through videos? With Facebook’s acquisition of QuickFire which will allow faster video processing without taking much of your bandwidth and its current auto-play feature, videos are more captivating to your fanbase. That might be the reason why Facebook now boasts a total of 3 billion video views a day! A word of advice for business owners who would market their products using videos, though. Facebook loves native videos rather than those uploaded to Youtube. Why? Because it favors that you use its own video player and it has a special analytics that can help your Facebook business page‘s social media strategy  and insights that will allow you to learn more about your audience’ preference.

In uploading native videos to Facebook, it is imperative that the video itself will be worth your audiences’ time as attention span is what we, as business owners, are trying to lengthen.

What are the types of videos that will make them pause and watch in entirety?

1. Videos that are inspirational. Instead of getting on your sales pitch and start talking about how good your product is or how exceptional your services are, viewers will stick more into watching your video if presented like a story or if presented where you speak your thoughts from the heart. There’s no way that your audience won’t be moved if you speak sincerely.

2. Videos that are educational. Videos where viewers learn new things is also a hype like the Facebook Marketing Tips that we have been doing. Learning how to cook a particular menu, how to carve a melon into a swan, how to arrange your bedroom stylishly, how to prepare a menu that’s attractive and appetizing…also are few suggestions of the educational videos that people love to know and watch.

3. Videos that are entertaining. As I mentioned previously, people go to Facebook to be entertained and not to be plagued with ads so present your video in an informal yet product -driven way.

How would you promote these videos to get seen?

1. Use the Call-to-Action option “Watch Video”. Instead of the usual “Buy Now” “Book Now” or “Call Now”  buttons that we normally see on the lower right portion of your cover photo, use this option instead. Viewers tend to shy away from direct advertisements so give them the option to decide to watch the video first and find out for themselves what your brand has to offer.

2. Embed your product/brand videos on your Blogs. Like what we have been doing since the First of our Top Ten Facebook Marketing Tips, we have been embedding videos on our blog to increase the reach and viewability options of our audience.

3. Set your video as your Featured Video. The purpose of making your featured video is to make it prominent and increase its potential of getting viewed by your fans as it will be displayed on the right side of your business page.

4. Create a Playlist of your videos. If you are doing a series of videos, it will be easier for your audience to view the next one. It’ll help to prevent your fans from navigating away from your Facebook page and thus easier for you to control their viewing experience.

5. Use Facebook Ad. If you can spare a little of your marketing budget to Facebook video ads, do so! Your organic reach is one thing, but it’s something else if you run an ad for it as it’ll increase your reach and make your video go farther than your effort alone can do.
